These chips must be ever more powerful and robust and in order to do that, the chip makers spend hundreds of millions of dollars each year to bring out new chips so all the computer hardware manufacturers can bring out new computer hardware that can run even more robust software at ever increasing speeds. And the cycle goes on and on.
