Computers do some great things for us, but when they don’t work correctly, they really frustrate us. We have become so dependent on our computers that if they are broken, we are in a real bind. To answer this need, the computer service and repair industry was created. Of course, before computers were invented, there was no need for computer service and repair, but as soon as the first computer was up and running, there became a need for computer service and repair.

In the beginning, there were very few computer companies so there was not as much of a need for computer service and repair. Computers were not as widespread as today. In fact, basically only large companies had computers and most of those computers were leased from a large computer manufacturer who built, installed and maintained the mainframe computers that became the heart of many businesses. AS these computers shrunk in size and price, more and more companies were able to afford them. AS more companies acquired computers, the need for computer service and repair began to grow.

Now medium sized and small sized companies, even one man businesses could afford computers just like the big guys. this demand helped fuel the growth of the computer manufacturing industry which brought more product choices to the consumer. There were now more products and more manufacturers delivering more and more computers to an ever-widening circle of companies and all this new hardware out in the field was creating more and more demand for computer service and repair. But the exponential growth in the computer service and repair industry didn’t come until the personal computer came along. Once the personal computer had become fairly widespread, there was a big need for a huge army of computer service and repair technicians.

Now that the average person could have a computer of their very own, and it was not just companies running using computers, there was the need for more computer service and repair than ever. As manufacturers made evermore faster, cheaper and more powerful personal computers, more and more people wanted to own one and of course once you own a computer, you will at some time or other need computer service and repair. Computer service and repair keeps the millions of computers, that are now out in the field, running.

The computer service and repair industry is now a vital link in the whole computer industry because a computer that is not working or not working properly is of less than no use to someone and can even be detrimental to their needs. Now people rely on computer service and repair to keep their machines operating and operating correctly.
