Researches announces the maximum computing speed.
Need for more speed, is the call from most of the broadband users across UK. Though we have a lot of new technologies adopted and use different mediums to access the Internet, the speed of the broadband connection is insufficient.
Internet service providers in UK offer cable broadband, mobile broadband, satellite broadband and Pay as you go broadband services. Every medium from wires, mobile and satellites are used as a medium of data transmission. But the feasibility from the central office, signal strength has not been concentrated enough to attain the required speed. Telephone lines used for the ADSL connections should be replaced and high end transmitting devices has to be installed for better signal strength.
At present the broadband offers a speed of 20Mbps in UK, but the actual speed attained in many areas is not even half of what is offered. Especially many broadband users are upset with the mobile broadband service. The mobile broadband service promised to provide greater mobility and faster access of 7 to 8 Mbps. But again signal coverage is worse even in the metros. ISP’s can’t deny or provide any technical reasons for not providing faster speeds, while more than 50 Mbps speed is possible in other European countries. Implementation of the web actually started from UK, but the adoption of technologies is slower than others.
There is also a shocking news for future users that the faster computing can’t grown beyond the next 75 years. Researches has derived an equation which has set the maximum speed limit for computing will be reached in the 75 years time and Moore’s law of using transistors in a integrated chip will die after 20 years. Computer processors are estimated to process 10 quadrillion operations per second than the recent speedy processors. If computers will not move faster in the future how will the Internet? Its a universal fact that nothing can travel faster than light. Another research on wireless says that mobile phones and mobile broadband services can function at an average speed of 100 Mbps after launch of 4G in these equipments. But the time taken to launch these new technologies will raise the amount of information available on the Internet by a million times.
The sad news is that the country still holds a lot of Internet lovers using the dial up service as a mode of communication. The common man in the rural hopes that the promised ‘2 Mbps to every house hold’ by the government of UK, will reach his computer in 2012.
