A portable laptop is also called as a think pad. Think pad is originally developed and designed by IBM. ThinkPad’s are much more portable and efficient than the laptops. Lenovo since 2005 has marketed and has manufactured ThinkPad’s. Lenovo has taken over the PC division of IBM. IBM ThinkPad’s have a good reputation in the world market and they are very dependable, sturdy and creative.

Some of the main features of IBM ThinkPad’s are as follows: -

* They are generally black in color and are sleek and sturdy.
* They are quite compact in size and are handy to use.
* They have an excellent LCD display screen.
* They have a solid and full-sized keyboard.
* They have an Active protection system.
* Some of them come with a Biometric fingerprint reader

Some of the popular latest IBM series are listed below:

ThinkPad R: The models in this series are basically designed for business purpose. It has a provision of two internal bays and one of the bays is swapped. Some of the models under R series are the R30, R31 and R40e which are manufactured under the license provided by Lenovo.

ThinkPad S: These models are produced in the Japanese market only. The models in this series are extremely light weight, small in size and very sturdy to use. These are also popularly called as Sub notebook.

ThinkPad T: The models in this series are light in weight; they are very small in size which makes them quite handy and they are very portable to use. This series is specially developed for the corporate market. There is a provision of two internal drives out of which one of the drive is swapped.

ThinkPad X: The models in this range are the sub notebooks which are light in weight and very small in size which makes them very handy for the users. The models in this series come with an internal hard drive and they have no optical drive. They have a good LCD 12″ screen. Some of the models in the X series are X41, X60 and X61 (which is the latest in the X series).

ThinkPad A: it includes all-in-one notebooks which are heavy, large and have three drive bays. They come with a 15″ display screen. A31 is one of the popular models in this series.
