Laptop computers have been steadily gaining market share. As laptop computers become smaller, lighter, faster, cheaper and more robust, their popularity is increasing. People love the portability of laptop computers. And laptop computers can now be used as your main personal computer at home because they are just as functional as their bigger heavy stationary cousins, the desktop computer. So why not have the best of both worlds and use a laptop computer at home and away?
People love the portability of laptop computers. the need for taking your computer and your files with you wherever you go has always been there. Using portable memory storage units can fulfill this basic need, but it has too many limitations that if you can overcome the drawbacks of taking your own computer with you wherever you go, then that is preferable. And laptop computers have done just that.
by making laptop computers cheaper, smaller, lighter, faster and still being able to pack tons of memory capacity into them has really fueled the sales growth in laptop computers. Who wouldn’t want to take their computer with them wherever they went if they cold do so in style and comfort? Today’s laptop computers are sleek, handsome and powerful. so why not carry one with you? It is really no effort. And today’s laptop computers are so good overall that you don’t have to just limit your laptop computer to field use, you can use it as your only computer.
Time was when laptops were okay if you really, really needed to be able to use a computer away from your home or office, but they were just a temporary measure and as soon as you got back home or to your office, you had to download everything to your desktop personal computer. What a pain and so unreliable too. But now laptop computers are so functional and reliable that they are fast taking the place of the old clunky desktop personal computer. and laptop computers are becoming more and more portable.
Laptop computers are the driving force behind the move to pack more and more memory capacity and build more and more energy efficiency into smaller and smaller packages. so while laptop computers may replace the old desktop computer as our machine of choice at home and at the office, the new generation of smaller and smaller handheld devices will probably supplant laptop computers as the goto machine for infield use. Laptop computers aren’t just for laptops anymore and as the technology improves laptops, although they have come very far in portability and power may just prove to be too big and too heavy compared to the new generation of handheld devices.
