Linux Vps
There are two terms involved here. First is Linux. This is architecture just like windows or main frame. This world famous free architecture and so will not cost anything. The use of Linux architecture will be economical. But use of Linux architecture can bring its own technical advantages and disadvantages. The other term is VPS. What is VPS? This is short form of the term, virtual private server.
What is virtual private server or VPS? There is one single physical server and you are having multiple servers on it. Theses are called as virtual private servers. They reside on single physical server. But they are independent of each other. Each virtual private server or VPS can be totally controlled by you. These VPS servers do not affect each other. You have full choice of running your own applications on these VPS servers.
Linux VPS means the virtual private servers which use linux architecture. Linux is a free service system. It is obvious that the cot of running your web sites and hosting those web sites with linux VPS servers will be practically zero. Linux is very useful for the users. The linux offers lot many end uses to the users. You have other systems. You want to combine these systems to your system to get additional advantages of these systems. In this case linux is very useful and simple to use for the combination of these two systems.
Linux can join apache. Linux can join PHP also. The structure of your web site will depend upon how you can combine these three together. The formats of your web sites are also result of the combination of these three systems. Linux is very effective and so, linux VPS will give best and different types and formats and structures for your web sites. PHP will work better with linux VPS than with windows VPS. If the PHP scripts are loaded, you will find lot many difficulties in handling them with windows. In windows environment it is always difficult to handle heavy load. In this case, linux VPS is the solution to your problem of handling heavy load.
The small businessman may find working with windows VPS more convenient than working with linux VPS. But the harsh economic fact is that linux VPS will be extremely cheap as compared to windows VPS. When it comes to costs it is not possible to beat linux VPS.
Databases like Access are designed to work with windows only. So if you have linux VPS then you can not use Access database. The linux does provide lot many other powerful enterprise databases. If you want MSSQL, then you can not use linux VPS. The .Net technologies also can not work with linux VPS.
