The MacBook by Apple has been gaining praise and adoration of Windows users. And that only increased when Apple announced the MacBook Air. The Air is the thinnest laptop available by any company, at least to consumers. But the fact still remains that before this announcement more and more people started turning to Apple MacBooks for their computing needs. Do you want to know why?

At first Apple computers were the front runners for consumer computers, then Microsoft took over, and now even though Microsoft is still the front runner, their quality has been called into question and Apple seems to have the answer.

Apple MacBooks, as well as iMacs, seem to consumers to be more stable systems. Because Microsoft is still the biggest seller, viruses tend to be aimed at Windows operating systems, which makes Macs safer. This cuts down the other programs you need running in the background and taking up RAM space you could be using otherwise.

The design of Apple macs are also becoming more preferred. The MacBook starts out at 13 inches, this is smaller than most Windows laptops which start at 14 inches, but the screens are bright. The batteries last for several hours without taking from the performance of the system and the view is customizable. From the different toolbars to choose from, the dock sizes and how you view your desktop you can really make the most of these 13 inches.

The iMac on the other hand is now only a monitor. It has a slot in the side to use and a CD/DVD-ROM. The mouse and keyboard hook up to the monitor (which has the whole computer in it) and you are set to go. There is no huge desktop computer tower to set up, and no needless cables all over the place.

Said simply, Apple just makes things easier. Hooking up to new Internet networks is easier and Apple Airport takes care of it for you. You can get as technical as you want, but you don’t have to be computer savvy to get started with a Mac.

The software that is included with the Mac includes all ‘i’ programs. iWeb, iMac, iPhoto, etc. These programs all work together to make your life easier. It is recommended to subscribe to iMac your first year as a Mac owner, this will just make the transition easier for you. Not to worry though, transition from Windows to Mac takes just a couple of days at most, with the biggest transition being instead of clicking out on the right side of the screen you click out on the left.

While the systems do cost more, and almost double the price of their windows counterparts, only you can decide if the change it worth it. What you can expect though is more ease, less rebooting, less firewall and antivirus trouble and more time spent computing. (This is the reason we buy computers right?)

Currently you can find MacBooks starting out at $1099 on the Apple site, and iMacs starting out at $599. One warning you should take heed of though from several Mac owners: Once you go Mac, you won’t go back!
