In old days the hacker was some kid out to have some fun. He was more interested in showing off his knowledge than in causing any real harm to you. Now there is lot of cyber crime. There are teams of hackers working together to hack a credit card or some financial account. In case of VPS server, even if a potential hacker buys server account on your VPS server provider, it is not possible to hack your server system. Your whole VPS server system is isolated and protected and no body can have access to it without your permission. This is a VPS security for you.
